July 2025 marked the Port of New York and New Jersey’s second-busiest July ever. The month’s total volume of 794,268 TEUs (437,248 containers) was a 1.5 percent decrease compared to the 806,015 TEUs (440,952 containers) posted in July 2024. This number brings the port’s total for January to July to 5,211,550 TEUs (2,869,901 containers), a 3.9 percent increase from the same period of 2024. The Port of New York and New Jersey continued to see strong growth over the first half of the year despite broad global uncertainty across the supply chain. The port handled 4,417,282 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) during the first six months of the year. The port handled 774,698 TEUs (425,876 containers), showing strong resilience through its diversified supply lines despite tariff-related uncertainties across the supply chain.
