August was a strong month for the Port of New York and New Jersey, ending with a nearly 20 percent jump in total volume from the previous year. A total of 790,891 TEUs (431,782 containers) moved through the port in August compared to 662,740 TEUs (366,339 containers) in 2023. July was a record-breaking month at the Port of New York and New Jersey.  With a total volume of 806,015 TEUs (440,952 containers), it was the busiest July in the port’s history and its seventh busiest month ever.
